We’re not just talking water with lemon juice for a week or dandelion tea for a month of pre-conception care prep – we’re talking a lifestyle and environment detox.

By now you’ve heard of endocrine disruptors causing harm and confusion in the hormonal system of humans, but these chemicals can also cause cancer, immune issues and problems during pregnancy or with the child. It’s a good idea to detox your body as much as possible before you try to get pregnant.

What you put on your skin, you put in your body. Not just lotion and make up and sun tan lotion, but also laundry detergent, static cling sprays and items you hold in your hands on a daily basis – including receipts from the store.

So how to you detox these chemicals, such as lead, mercury and BPA? Live the life of a monk? Maybe! But the best thing you can do and still function as a part of everyday society is to clean up your home and lifestyle by using less plastics. Go for glass instead of plastic containers, and switch to recycling water and using glass cups vs buying plastic water bottles – trust us, your future child and future self will thank you. Avoid canned food, go organic and when it comes to fish and seafood, choose wild caught vs farmed, and don’t have more than one serving of tuna per week. If you do raw fish, make sure you have cilantro, parsley, garlic, onions and wasabi in your diet on those days to prevent parasitic infections. Despite our new ways of flash-freezing sushi in the U.S., women are still getting sick, so don’t eat sushi everyday!

The U.S. finally is realizing antibiotic soap is a joke, and actually causes more harm than good, so throw away the toxic junk soap and go au natural for a healthier gut, skin, uterus, hormones, and baby.

If you have any questions about trying to conceive, hormones, toxic chemicals and all things fertility, feel free to call our office – we are always happy to help!
