- At up to $10,000 for first time Egg Donors, we offer the highest compensation on the market. If you decide to donate eggs again, the compensation increases to $12,000 and more for repeat egg donors.
- There are never any out of pocket expenses when you decide to donate eggs with us – ever. We pay all the screening, medical, insurance, your legal representation, travel to Los Angeles or Miami/Ft Lauderdale, accommodation (if needed) and parking costs.
- If you are local to Los Angeles, you will work with Dr. Jain and his team here at Santa Monica Fertility Clinic, and ONLY his team. We will never ask you to undergo treatment at unfamiliar clinics or with medical professionals that you don’t know. You will truly be in the best hands in the industry and part of our Santa Monica Fertility family.
- We will assign you a nurse who will be responsible for your cycle and will support you throughout the egg donation process. Your nurse will always be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have, including after hours and urgent calls.
- All donations are completely anonymous and confidential; we will never share any identifying information about you, not even your first name. We only ever match our Egg Donors with our own Santa Monica Fertility patients. We screen our Intended Parents carefully, develop strong relationships and know them well. Egg Donation is an amazing gift and thanks to you, their hearts and their homes will be full.

Requirements To Donate Eggs
We consider all applicants on a case by case basis, and although many egg donors who we work with are relatively local to Los Angeles or Miami, we work with donors based across the whole of US. Egg Donation requires certain commitment on your time and numerous visits to our clinic, therefore being able to commute to one of our clinics in Los Angeles or Miami is beneficial. Although we can work with your local clinic to complete initial testing and monitoring, you will need to travel to one of our clinics for an egg retrieval procedure.
You will also need to meet some basic requirements in order to donate eggs with us, which include:
- Age 20-29
- Good general health
- BMI < 30 (not medically obese)
- No sexually transmitted diseases within last 12 months
- Non-smoker
- Family history without significant health or hereditary issues
How Much Do You Get For Donating Eggs?
Egg donors are compensated for their time and effort to donate eggs. First-time donors typically receive up to $10,000 in compensation, whereas repeat donors receive $12,000 and more. Donors can donate eggs every 3-4 months, but do have a limit on the number of donations they can undergo in their lifetime. We provide your compensation at the time of egg retrieval.
We cover all costs associated with donating eggs in full, including insurance, all screening, travel, accommodation and any other costs that may occur. You will never have any out of pocket expenses.
I Don’t Live In California Or Florida, Can I Still Become An Egg Donor?
Absolutely! Although our physical offices and clinics are currently located in California and Florida, we work with egg donors who live in all the states across the US. We have successfully completed the egg donation process with our egg donors based in Texas, Utah, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, to name just a few! You will be able to complete most part of the initial medical testing at a fertility clinic near your home, and psychological screening and genetic counseling is completed in phone consultations. When it’s time to travel for an egg retrieval, we will cover all your costs associated with travel, including gas, flights, accommodation, and meal allowance. We will provide you with medical insurance that covers your egg donation journey and you will never have any out of pocket expenses.

How to donate eggs
- Fill out the online application form
One of our egg donation coordinators will contact you as soon as we review your application. - Consult with a doctor at our Santa Monica Fertility Clinic or Santa Monica Fertility Miami
You will have a phone or in-person appointment with a fertility specialist at our clinic in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, or Miami, who will review your medical history in more detail, perform an ultrasound of your ovaries, and obtain blood for various medical and infectious disease screens. - Consult with a psychologist and genetic counselor
After your medical screening tests are returned, you will have a telephone interview with a psychologist, and a genetic counselor. - Creation of an electronic donor profile
We will create your profile once you’ve completed all your medical, psychological and genetic screening tests and you qualified to donate eggs. We will ask you to provide photographs and may invite you to a professional photo shoot (at no cost to you, of course). Your profile will be password protected and shared with intended parents interested in choosing you as their donor.
Legal Considerations for Donating Eggs
Egg donation is mostly done anonymously, meaning that the donor and intended parents will be unable to identify each other. In order to help match you with intended parents, we create an electronic profile which is posted on our website. The profile includes pictures and information about your health and family history. The profile is password protected and your name or any other identifying information will never be used.
Upon matching with an intended parent, you we will refer you to an attorney who will represent you in the creation of a legal agreement between yourself, Santa Monica Fertility, and the intended parent(s). This egg donation legal agreement is meant to protect the privacy of all parties and further outlines your compensation, duties and rights once you become an egg donor..
What Does It Mean To Donate Your Eggs?
Donating your eggs means going through the process where egg follicles that would normally be discarded by your body during menses are retrieved instead. The eggs are then used for IVF by someone who is unable to have a baby with their own eggs. Egg donation gives intended parents a chance of having the family they have always wanted. How Often Can You Donate Eggs?
According to guidance from the ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine), donors can generally donate up to 6 times in their lifetime. If a donor decides to do more than one cycle with us, they must wait 3-4 months between each donation cycle to allow their bodies to rest.
Egg Donation Near Me
Santa Monica Fertility has offices in Santa Monica, CA and Coral Gables, FL. However, we successfully work with donors all over the United States. For out-of-town donors, we simply find outside monitoring clinics near you for you to go to for some of your appointments. When donors are in-cycle, they typically will complete the first week of monitoring appointments at the outside monitoring clinic, then we fly them out to Santa Monica for the remainder of their cycle. Donors do not have out of pocket costs, as hotels and transportation are provided. Donors living outside of California can expect to be here anywhere from 9-12 days.
If You Donate Your Eggs Will The Baby Be Yours?
Genetically – yes (partially) as the donor is providing the egg. Legally, no. Donors are not considered legal parents or guardians and have no parental obligations or rights to any offspring conceived through their donation(s). How Long Is Egg Donation Process?
Overall, an egg donation process itself can take anywhere from 1-2 months. Once a donor is selected for a cycle, under the direction of their assigned nurse, they start taking birth control pills for about 2-6 weeks and then self-administered hormone injections for about 2 weeks after that. After the hormone injections, donors are ready for the egg retrieval procedure, which only takes about 20 minutes.
If You Donate Eggs Can The Child Find You?
At Santa Monica Fertility, our egg donation program is anonymous. We take every possible precaution to ensure our donors’ anonymity. We do not publish any possibly identifying information publicly, not even your first name. That being said, with social media and ancestry testing, it may be possible for offspring to find an egg donor. Our donors are provided with legal representation and sign an agreement, detailing how they are protected. Once an egg donor conceived child turns 18, they can request the donor’s identifying information from our clinic. If this happens, we will contact the egg donor and the donor can decide at that time if she would like contact with the child.
Is Donating Eggs Painful?
Generally, no. Donors are placed under IV sedation during the egg retrieval procedure, so they do not feel anything. The egg retrieval is a quick 20-minute procedure, where the doctor inserts a fine needle through the vagina, into the ovaries and extracts the eggs.
If You Donate Your Eggs Can You Still Have a Baby?
There is no known association between egg donation and infertility. We have seen several of our egg donors complete multiple cycles, take a break to have their own families, and come back to cycle again.
If you donate your eggs do you still get your period?
Periods return to their pre-donation pattern within 2-6 weeks following the egg donation process.
How Many Eggs Can You Donate?
When you donate your eggs, we retrieve whatever eggs your body would’ve naturally discarded that month. During ovulation, a woman will ovulate one egg, however prior to this, there are other egg follicles that die off and are discarded. Taking fertility hormone shots allows the egg that would normally die to grow and ultimately be retrieved.
