Dr. Richard Marrs is double board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and brings unparalleled expertise to Santa Monica Fertility. His groundbreaking contributions to the field include the development of ovarian stimulation protocols and achieving the first pregnancy from a thawed frozen embryo in 1986.
Dr. Marrs’s commitment to advancing ethical standards in infertility treatment is evidenced by his role as the founder and first President of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, where he played a pivotal role on the Society’s Ethics Committee, contributing to the development of the first document in the United States outlining ethical guidelines for reproductive technologies.
As the founder and managing partner of California Fertility Partners, Dr. Marrs continued to embody excellence and compassion in his work. Following his retirement from clinical patient care in 2023, Dr. Marrs embarked on a new chapter in his career by assuming the role of Chief Medical Officer for Pinnacle Fertility, the network encompassing Santa Monica Fertility, California Fertility Partners, and other leading fertility clinics nationwide. In this role, he works closely with Dr. Vasquez to ensure each patient receives personalized, high-touch care on their fertility journey.
